The Three Most NAEYC and DEC Code of Ethics

The three most  significance code of ethics to me  are:

I-1.1-To be familiar with knowledge and base of early childhood care and education to stay informed through continue education and training.
It is important for me as an early childhood educators to stay informed of what is going on in the field. It is also important for educators to learn new and invade ways to work with young children.

I-1.10- To ensure that each child's culture, language, ethnicity and family structure are recognize and valued in the program.
We live in a diverse world and we as a society should respect each person culture, language, family structure and ethnicity. Young children needs to feel that they are accepted and wanted. In my classroom I have a family tree where the students bring pictures from home of their families and place them on the tree. The class and I share about our families. Each learning center in my class is represented with books, pictures on the wall around the room and music of not only the ethnicity of the students in the classroom but also other ethnicity from around the world.

P-1.10 When another person tell us of his or her suspicion that a child is being abused or neglected,we shall assist that person in taken appropriate action in order to protect the child.
We as adults are suppose to protect children it is very important to me that we as early child hood educators  protect young children and fight for their rights.Child abuse is a very serious issue in our society today. I will report any physical or emotional abuse against children and will assist the person who informed me of the abuse to a child through the entire process. Child abuse is another important issue to me.

  1. I love your family tree idea! I am going to have my children bring family pictures and put them in the housekeeping area. They can pictures of their family anytime then!

  2. Child abuse is one crime that is often committed but few are convicted for it. As surrogate parents to our students we must pay close attention to them and protect them as if they were our own blood.
